Tarot is about connection, clarity and inspiration.
People often ask how one begins reading tarot.
The answer is simple, we just start.
My journey began with a gift from a dear friend who always knew I was curious about the mystical world. It was a mini Rider–Waite deck, paired with a small guide offering just one sentence for each card. At first, tarot intimidated me. I moved slowly, unsure of myself, cautiously learning what I could.
Then came a global pandemic — and night after night, I found myself returning to the cards. I studied them, sat with them, and slowly began to build a relationship rooted in curiosity rather than fear.
A few months later, I purchased a full-size Rider–Waite deck — the very one you’ll still see me using today. I formally introduced myself to it, setting intentions and creating a bond that felt surprisingly strong and deeply personal. At the time, my tarot practice was private, something just for me.
That changed on Halloween night, when a few cocktails and good friends inspired me to share my readings aloud for the first time. That night marked the beginning of something much bigger.
Tarot soon became woven into my daily life — a tool for grounding, reflection, and clarity as I navigated some of the most stressful seasons I’d ever known. Those around me encouraged me to go further, to share what I was doing, to trust that this practice mattered. I placed tarot on my vision board.
In February 2023, The Secret Card Society was born on Instagram.
Since then, The Secret Card Society has expanded faster than I ever expected. I now work closely with a variety of clients and local businesses to create experiences for thousands of people. What began as a quiet calling has become a living, breathing practice — one I feel honored to continue nurturing every day.
If you’ve made it to this page, thank you.
The journey is still unfolding and I’m so glad you’re a part of it.
